Hi everyone! I recently purchased the Bikal 43 KH and noticed something weird ..... the end of the barrel is not blued and it looks like it was sawed off or grinded, with pretty poor crowning.... also if i look from top, i can see then barrels were cut or grinded crooked as if who ever did it was holding the gun few degrees away from straight, so the outside of the left barrel is 1-2 mm longer then outside of the right barrel... it is barely noticeable, but now since i know about it, it bugs me a lot... :?) And i cant find any markings that would specify the original barrel length.... but now it is just a bit less then 20"..
.....the seller said he bought it brand new not to long ago, and only shot it few times, and never did any work to it other then cleaning, and it seems to be true because the blueing and wood is in immaculate condition.... The seller suggested that that could be the way it left the factory....

Do you think this situation will impact the accuracy ?? Do i have to fix it ??
What are the chances that it actually was made like that...??

so what are the chances that this " ИЖ 43 КН" still going to function properly??

Or should I just get it straightened......???

Thanks a lot Enigmatic1..... Great pics.... just like mine... i guess they do come that way from a factory.. :)

This won't affect accuracy at all. They cut barrel like this on most russian shotgun I've seen and much brazilian shotgun too(stoeger and such) It's only a matter of finishing and polishing. Low end gun don't have much polishing and finishing time on them but those gun are really solid. They just lack some cool and shiny look that other high end gun have.

BTW only people that shoots alot of shells per year will notice the difference between a high end gun and a low end gun. Low end gun worn out faster but still work perfect for most hunter/user that shoot less than 1k rounds per year.

Not a problem. I don't see what you mean about the lack of bluing/cut at an off angle however...

Oh, I forgot to measure my barrels as well. I'll do that yet too.

they are probably just under 51 cm.... or 19 3/4 "... but if you mesure both sides...on the very side... i think you'll find 1-2 mm difference... at least on mine is like that..

But i think GodGab is right... and we got none to worry about... :)
