I'm trying to gather information (who, what, why, where, when and how much) on a bunch of bayonets. I know nothing about bayonets so some of what I find is a little confusing.
Thanks for any information you can provide.

Is this an Argentine Mauser bayonet? Are the handle scales aluminum or some aluminum alloy?

When I Google the makers info I get lots of options and a few that look like this are called Argentine Mauser bayonets.

Is the 1891 date when it was made? The stamping on this side is weak but the P7996 matches the number on the steel scabbard. Is the "entino" supposed to read Tramentino?

The pile of bayonets I will eventually get through.

Argentine M1891, Arg law required all surplus arms have Arg crest defaced before sale.

Thanks for the information. Now I understand that the crest scrubbing reduced the "Modelo Argentino 1891" stamping to "entino 1891" and washed out the serial number. Further research confirms the handle scales as aluminum. I really like how this bayonet is made and how it feels in the hand. Any idea as to value in this condition? Thanks again.
