This one turned out to be just what I wanted for my own use. Converts quickly with no removable parts. The milsurp sights will stay lined up even when the gun gets a bit of abuse. Just test fired it today so when the weather warms up I'm looking forward to some bench rest shooting to test accuracy.
Sweet looking build. Does the action slide to the rear or do you physically remove it to change position? Looks like the trigger folds into the stock. A little more info please. Any thought of a trigger guard? I'm all for unique builds. Well done.
The barrel and action slides back to make it as compact as possible. When in this position, the bolt cannot be cycled (for loading or unloading) and the trigger is hidden (folded into the stock). Sliding the barrel and action forward drops the trigger into position and the bolt will now cycle. At this point even if the rear folding butt stock is removed the gun is still legal length (in this case 27").
To make the transition quick I machined a slot with keyholes at each end.
neato! This is nearly what I had in mind for a packable rifle for my dual sport bike! , but would like a repeater however cause most times I am just out and about localy and plugging gophers.
