I've got a question about the HS & McMilllan stocks on 10FPs. Are they reasonably ambidexterous? I'm a lefty learnin' myself to shoot righty but would still like to pop the occasional left handed shot.

Do yourself a favor. If your terminally left handed like myself, then buy the flp10 and either reinforce the stock or order a left hand after market stock. i just recieved my laminate var-tac from Sharp shooter supply and I actually like it better than the plastic ones available.

I own the McMillan savage and am also a lefty. I've been shooting righthanded rifles for 29 years and I will say this: When shooting from a rested position (which one is inclined to do with a heavy barreled rifle) you are actually at an advantage being a lefty. You will not have to remove your firing hand from the stock... this has alowed me to make quicker follow up shots. Now, this all takes practice of course, I can also manipulate the bolt in the off hand position just as fast as a righty. Go with what you are comfortable with... but keep in mind the saying "Train the way you fight". If you go back and forth between a righthanded rifle and a lefty you will not be as proficient with either. Train on one and master it. Some of the most highly traind shooters are leftys and I'm sure ther military did not offer them a lefty rifle, they had to adapt. But if you go with the lefty, realize that you will have a more limited choice in products and pay more for them. My opinion: its not worth it. We are in a righthanded world so learn to adapt.

I tend to agree with the "when in Rome" approach. I'm largely a milsurp nut and you sure as hell ain't gonna find a left handed Enfield. Oddly enough, I tried shooting rh and my scores aren't very far off of regular. It's an interesting approach you propose that I've never tried- using the forend hand to run the bolt, I've always done the reach over. That'e fine for iron sights, but reaching around a scope sucks.
