I own the McMillan savage and am also a lefty. I've been shooting righthanded rifles for 29 years and I will say this: When shooting from a rested position (which one is inclined to do with a heavy barreled rifle) you are actually at an advantage being a lefty. You will not have to remove your firing hand from the stock... this has alowed me to make quicker follow up shots. Now, this all takes practice of course, I can also manipulate the bolt in the off hand position just as fast as a righty. Go with what you are comfortable with... but keep in mind the saying "Train the way you fight". If you go back and forth between a righthanded rifle and a lefty you will not be as proficient with either. Train on one and master it. Some of the most highly traind shooters are leftys and I'm sure ther military did not offer them a lefty rifle, they had to adapt. But if you go with the lefty, realize that you will have a more limited choice in products and pay more for them. My opinion: its not worth it. We are in a righthanded world so learn to adapt.
