Well we got up early this morning and made a trip to Picton so Gina (wife) could write her hunting and firearms exams. She passed which was a good start to the day.
While Gina was writing the test I had an offer from one of the instructors to buy an extra rifle he had. Its a .303 and has taken many deer and even a few moose down on the 300 yard mark both instructors told me. Complete with Bushnell scope, sling and trigger lock for $125.. Not bad I dont think... Looking forward to popping off a few rounds in November.
Then we headed over to Campbellford to signup with the hunting club I found. We hit one of the club's properties on the way home to check it out and thought I would bring the shotgun with me incase we see a grouse. Don't ya know, 10 minutes in and I already had a grouse in my sights.
This piece of the club's land is going to be amazing for deer too. Its set on a corn field that has apple trees along the edge of the field. I cant wait to get out there!
We soon after left to get some food and head home but its nice to have a place all setup with bait, blinds and tree stands to use whenever I want.
