Another help thread! NP22 (226 clone)

Thanks for your help in advance guys, here's the run down. I had this gun stripped down to the bare frame for refinishing and now the wonderful task of putting it all back together ( with the assistance of youtube. Everything seemed to have went well but when the time came to try it out... It seems like the hammer isn't dropping all the way. I honestly cant remember if this gun has a half #### feature as its been so long. I have been fiddling for about an hour just on this snag. I feel the issue may be related to the hammer strut location. It doesn't seem to fall into any particular place like a glove and the trigger pull is well very heavy. I tried swapping the hammer reset spring to the bottom of the hammer pin to the top, that definetly wasn't it.. At this point I am lost. Any ideas?

the hammer strut is not gone in the right place probably. Where it goes is more towards the rear of the gun than you would think.

Yes, that's what I found. thanks for the info. Trigger feels much much better but still stiff compared to my 1911's. Good thing this is "her" gun.
