In mid August, I bought my third .308 TC Icon from SIR/Cabelas. The first, a wood stock model was a 3/4 MOA shooter which I had rebarreled to 260 Rem.
The second is the Weathershield (comosite stock) model which also shoots 3/4 MOA and will soon be rebarreled to 6.5 X 47 Lapua.
My latest, is another Weathershield model which will remain a .308. I now have about 200 rounds through it. Using Sierra 165 BTHP GameKing (which is OK for deer) in front of Varget, it is one of the most accurate "sporters" I have played with... At 100M, I can reasonably expect five shot strings to give groups under 0.8". (My best 5 shot group is 0.4" to date). Three shot groups typically range between 0.4 - 0.6" C to C. Today, I shot two different seating depths. The two "jambed' groups measured 0.36 and 0.46".
The two that were ten thou back were both 0.5". Even the "jambed" loads fit in the clip.
The Weathershield model comes with a three shot factory target (my last one measures 0.38")...alum bedding block in a hogue overmolded stock ... 3 lug bolt with a 60 degree lift....integral scope base machined into the action....externally adjustable trigger.... detach plastic clip....5R rifling in a match grade barrel....knurled bolt is similar to the Remington. From SIR, incl GST/shipping, mine was $1000.00.
