I've done a google search, read some threads from CGN and read the RCMP info article. I tried to download the PDF for the ATT application but for some reason it wouldn't download. Says I need an updated Adobe but I'm pretty sure I'm up to date. The thing with the CGN threads I read are that they are either from 2012 or older, from the perspective of someone from ON or BC. The RCMP article talks about ATT, not about LTATT specifically, and I've read a lot of contradicting info.
First off, I'm from Alberta. I am wondering if, when I call them to apply for an LTATT, do I need to take the initiative to tell them what conditions I want on it, or do I just say "I want an LTATT" and they issue it with the ff. conditions being automatic:
1. To all approved ranges in AB
2. To all borders
3. To all certified gun smiths
I read one post where it says to ask for all options: daily frequency, all hours, all approved ranges, all certified gun smiths, borders etc etc. Do I have to be the one to bring that up and assert which options I want or will they go over all the possible options available?
Also, I would like some clarification on the range membership bit. I know that the LTATT is valid up to the expiry of your RPAL. However, I've read posts where it says it's valid while your membership is valid. I have a range membership and it's annual. Does that mean I have to reapply for the LTATT every year?
Also, I read that they will require proof of membership to a range. With my range membership (CHAS), I just got my plastic membership ID and two printed letters about general info. None of the letters state my name on them, to serve as a certificate that I am a member of the range. Should I just snap a picture of my plastic ID and email that to them?
If there's anything I missed please let me know. Thanks.
