"GOOD SHOOTING" is when you take careful aim and put your bullet where you want to.

"A LUCKY SHOT" is when you take a poke at a running coyote at 150 yards and get lucky and hit it.

Now probably the best way to "get practice" on running shots is to actually take running shots at critters. Better to practice on coyotes and not deer.

I did take carful aim and thought about my shot but it was still lucky.I wouldn't have taken that shot on a deer anyhow.but a coyote I will try any shot on

should I not use Amax?I got a whole wack of them reloaded and they are dead on accurate in that sako.I was told that was a good bullet to use.I have not had any problems with them.I just figured they were the same type deal as a silver tip

I was under the impression that all amax expand quickly and alot of the "hunting"bullets I have used in the past on white tails have very little expantion.I wouldn't use these on anything bigger than deer though because i think with a thicker hide it could be a surface wound in the wrong spot

yeah the Amax is designed for accuracy, not terminal performance. Personally I wouldnt use them, but they might work, sometimes

ben-those amax bullets will kill a coyote (pics above)but seriously every coyote I have hit with the has been downed and leave a big whole.shot a doe lastnight with them and the shot went straight through big whole in and big whole out.the thing is though with that large of a entrance whole the bullet was already expanding on the way in.now if that was a thicker skinned animal that would have been a surface wound.the bullet actualy did more damage than I thought it would.I probably won't use these next season on deer because the bullet looks like it exploded instead of expanded.I don't see anything wrong with using them on anything up to deer.but anything bigger would not be a good idea I think the problem with them is under penitration and not over penitration
