I have a Browning Citori Lightening in 20 gage and am going to be going skeet shooting this weekend with my maybe-future-father-in-law at his farm.

What ammo do I need for this, and which chokes should I use?

I have some 4,5,6 turkey loads which I'd like to get rid of, can I use these, and if so what choke should I start with?

Thanks!

Matt

For causal clays go buy a cheap 4 box pack of target loads from Walmart or Canadian Tire. Use 7-1/2 or 8 shot. If you have a choice use IC choke since hand thrown clays will be relatively close

Nice gun. That ammo will work but is not particularly ideal. You'd be better to save that and pick up something between 7.5 and 9.

Use the least tight choke that you have. Cylinder or Skeet would be a good place to start.

Brad.

You can shoot whatever you like, but a day with turkey loads won't be ideal for the shoulder or face. The best is to try and find some light target loads in 7 1/2
or 8. I'm guessing you'll be hand throwing the clay, so a more open choke is also fine.
When you threw clay targets on the farm, your rules also apply. Have fun.
