It looks as though I will be procuring a very lovely Belgium made high power in near mint shape.:)
It does not have mounts or bases and I would like to hear some opinions.

I want to go with two piece high gloss furniture to compliment the rifle.
It will be wearing a Leupold Vari X II 3-9 until I can find a vxIII 2.5-8x36.

It would be great to keep the weight to a minimum and yet stay with steel.
Is there anything out there that follows these terms that is in a quick detach design leaving a good view of the iron sights?

Thanks in advance!;)

Check Talley's website, they make awesome mounts and a quick detach system that should fit the bill....

I have their LW's and their Split Vertical (steel), very well made!

Right on. I am on my way to check it out. Thank you!

Hi Jarrod, no it isn't a 7mag, it is a 30-06.:D
I don't want to make my 7 mauser jealous!;)

As 280 pointed out the Talleys are sweet, but neither the Talley guy or I know if the Browning High Powers are large ring or small ring `98 actions. Can anyone fill us in on this too please?

Thanks,
Noel
