Hi all, i did a search but came up with nothing, so here goes....

I bought an SKS yesterday:)dancingbanana:) numbers on it read 1954r with an arrow type symbol above it. This SKS also has a matte black bayo. Serial numbers all match.

So can someone please give me the quick .10 story on these SKS's? Does the black bayo mean anything at all? Im no SKS expert and a google search got kinda confusing in a big hurry.

Thanks in advance folks :)

I would add a picture, photobucket and I are not get along right now....

A triangle means an Izzy, and a star means a Tula. Different factories, different symbols. Your rifle was sent back to the barracks or wherever they go and had the worn out or damaged parts replaced. Myself, I'd prefer an Izzy over a Tula, they seem to be more valuabe for some reason, but then again I own 2 Tula's, so there you go. Hope I helped, and don't worry, someone more smarter than me will be along shortly to guide you along. Oh, by the way, you do know they're like Cheetos, you can't have just one. Hahaha.

thanks for help, i found the red rifle sticky\thread....huge help!! Your not kidding about the Cheetos angle either eh, I've been an SKS owner for about a day now and I want another one already!!:)
