Now everyday is a different adventure. Today I get out at first light and the wind is blowing hard from the South West and I am limited as to what properties I can work. I head to one of the new places that I have already taken 2 yotes on and setup up along a thick woods along the swamp I have been hunting.
I get setup with the caller out and start calling. As I get into 5 minutes of calling I happen to look to my left and I spot a coyote way hell and gone out in the field and it has to be 400 yards. The coyote is crossing the field but is up wind of me and dont seem to hear the caller. He takes a few steps and stops a few more and stops and my guess is that with the thaw we are having along with the rain yesterday the water is all over the field and he is working around the water , only walking on the high points of snow where it is dryer.
I turn and setup and think that the wind is so bad and after one of the hunts last week I took aim 2 feet (Guessing) to the right up wind and let go. I see the yote drop to the ground and then hear the WACK of the bullet when it hits.
He goes down into a spin and I can see him flipping and flopping on the ground and think I need another shot so I place the scope once again 2 feet up wind and squeeze and I can see the yote drop still before I hear the impact of the bullet again.
Another swamp yote down again....
Thanks Nick7 for coming from Toronto to pick up the yotes !
