Another Whelen on the way...

...Your scope is mounted much higher than I would mount that’s cope. Looks like a HIGH set of rings for a scope I would have mounted with the LOW rings. But neck length, cheek size, etc is different for each of us. Also, I suspect a rig for standing and sitting shots needs the scope positioned differently than a scope to be used prone...

Thanks Ganderite...yeah, I just slapped this scope on with some mounts and rings I had lying around...mainly just to see what kind of group she'll produce whilst wearing glass. Afterwords, I intend to remove the scope and use this rifle with irons, probably. :)

Not that there is anything wrong with that...I was just curious.;):p:D

James,

Reminds me of Seinfeld...:)

Yes, those "rifle beds" Those are the cushions from my patio set chairs...they usually just come into play when I am taking pics of the rifles. ;) and if no-one is sitting at the patio set at the time.

We shoot a competition at 100,200 and 300 yards at deliberate, snap, rapid fire and moving targets.

With over 300 guns to chose from, I elected to use a rem pump in 308.

I have more accurate rifles and I have rifles that shoot a bit faster, but with a 10 shot mag (not available in a semi) the pump has the best combination of speed, accuracy and capacity. It groups off the bench with match ammo at about 1".

A 35 Whelen cartridge loaded with a 250 grain bullet is an awesome thing.
