Ans for load 276/256 Cal M1 Garand

Gentlemen,
Here are the two files in 1927 which carry info the .276/.256 Cal. for the Garand Semiautomatic. Ordnance is stating THAT BOTH of these Cal. are for a 140 gr. bullet with a muzzle Velocty of 2600 FPS. Also notice that these are for both Cal. Again, these are carbon copies of the file and as you can see very hard to improve on. We are luckly to get what we can from this. I hope you fine these of interest.

The .256 ctg was very similar to the 6.5 Japanese ballistically.. Ordnance tested the .256, .276 and 30 M1906 and M1 on pigs and goats. The .256 was found to be the most lethal. During WWII US soldiers were told the "little 25 Japanese ctg" was very underpowered. This probably cost US lives.
