I have an Anschutz 1771 in .17 hornet with 20” barrel and I cannot find the spec for rate of twist anywhere. All I can find is that the barrel has 6 grooves. Does anyone know what the rate of twist is for these rifles?
How about just measuring yourself?
Put a tight fitting cleaning rod with patch in and put a masking tape "flag" on it at the muzzle, pointing up (to the front sight).
Pull the rod making it follow the grooves so it will spin.
Once the tape is pointing up again you measure the distance from flag to muzzle.
Let say this distance is 10 inches then your rate of twist is 1:10
I've got the same rifle, Nordic Marksman had this info on there site, like you I can't find it any more, metric measure, 1-260 mm seams to ring a bell for me,
Found it 1-228 mm twist.
Slightly more than 1-9 twist
