Anschutz Mark 2000 What can you tell me about this

The Anschutz 2000 is an entry level target rifle with a Flobert II action. It's trigger is nothing special but the rifle should shoot better than many other rifles in its price range, which I would put at $400 - $500 or so.

The model 2000 is a 64 match action and not a Flobert II action. Developed in the 1990s as an entry level target rifle, it was sold for around the $795 US dollar mark. $1500 in today's prices, the 2000 would be in the price range of a modern 1416. There were several varients with the most desirable being magazine fed, having a European style accessory rail and the stock containing six cooling ports. I have the base model with the basic stock but with the optional Anschutz front sight in good condition. Parts are aways available because it is an Anschutz. A higher end varient in good to very good condition could fetch $500 to $600, maybe even more because they do not appear on the market that often. I bought my base model from a grumpy old guy who I knew for awhile for $200 about two years ago. Got it at a pretty good deal because I am a grumpy old dude also and we understood each other. Personally as a collector, I would pay over $600 for the higher end varient of the model 2000 if it was in very good to excellent condition. A plain Jane one in good condition would be $350 to $400 for the non grumpy old man types. They come standard as a single shot, with a 4lb adjustable trigger and is fairly light for a target rifle at around 6lbs. I use mine or rather my wife's because it is in her Anschutz's collection as a base rifle to compare other target .22 rifles to so it does see action at the range quite often.

Dang it metalbender, you made me look in my Anschutz's safe!lol. When you are right, you are right and when you are wrong you are wrong. I was going off of memory and gots the actions mixed up. Opened up the safe and right beside the model 2000 is the Savage Anschutz model 10 which looks identical down to the last screw except for the action. 64 match action and an Anschutz barrel, makes me think how lucky I am because I picked up this model 10 for $195 at the local gun store Last summer. With taxes I was under $225.

I don't know if this clarifies anything. The long and the short is the Anschutz 2000 still is a Flobert II action.

I took the barreled action out of the stock and had a look for any marking's and other then what is marked on the top of the barrel Anschutz Mark 2000 and the serial number on the left and the makers name. no other marking's. the rear sight is an Anschutz, I would say the basic rear sight and the globe front site with inserts.

I knew it was not a high end model. But it shoots better than I can hold. Nice little rifle. I picked it up in Dawson Creek BC In the early 80's in the used gun rack at Colane's. I don't remember what I paid for it. But at the time I think it was a bargain. I remember thinking if it was only a repeater would make a great prairie dog shooter.
