Anschutz Scope Ring Problems

Hi
I tried mounting a scope on my 54 Anschutz the rings are 30mm and the base of the rings are standard 22 size. The rings are loose on the receiver when tightened up.

Does Anschutz have odd size receiver grooves???

I had to add shim stock to make them fit the receiver.

If I need a different kind of rings where do I go to find them?

Anschutz has standard 11mm dovetail grooves, as do most if not all European .22 rifles. Your rings may be for 3/8" grooves, a size common on North American rifles. What make are your rings?
You might see if it has a rail clamp that can be flipped between 3/8" and 11mm. There are a lot of rings that will fit well on your Anschutz dovetails.

Warne rings hold tight on my 54.

Leupold Ringmounts will do everything you ask of them and they are good looking at the same time. The "medium" height will fit standard 40mm scopes or 33mm AO scopes, larger than standard 40mm or 40mm AO and up require the "high" height.

The Burris Signature 22 rings fit well on either 3/8 or 11m/m dovetails and have the plastic inserts that protect scopes from marking.

EAW also make very high quality rings and bases for anschutz rifles. They are pricy though.
