Are they as highly regarded as their bolt action rifles? I notice the 525 is still being made. Who (if anyone) would stock it in Canada? The only semi Anschutzs I've seen in the EE are the old CIL rifles.

I've had the chance to borrow a friend's (older CIL/Anschutz)... I'm glad I did... I don't have the urge to buy one any more!

+ Accuracy was good.
+ Full size stock

- Trigger was pretty darn creepy
- The magazine follower acts as the bolt stop... which cause stress on the magazine... that are pretty hard to come by and expensive when you do find them...

No! Not even sure if you can buy new, but the old cil/anschutz Semi's are not spectacular rifles at all. Bolts are great.

what is the value of a 470 CIL in this condition? I just bought this one,,,,I know very little about the model.

That magazine sounds just like the warning about Gevarms. Considering it's a metal box with spring and fiddly bits... I'm surprised a small cottage industry hasn't come up making them as a source of side income...

I know it's not what you said, but it sounds a lot like... stick with a 10/22 for a semi or wait for a bolt for the Anschutz...

if you really want an accurate semi look at the Thompson Center R-55 all weather, you can buy them new for 550-600 they come with a $400 match barrel and are almost as accurate as my annie 64, Superb semi's once they are broken in and you find the right ammo.
