I have a Anschutz but can't tell what model it is, Its probally over 20 years old and has a 5 shot mag, the barrel length in about 21-22 in. The rear sight has 3 dots that a little slide underneath sticks into either at 25, 50 or 75 yards. It has a monty carlo stock and the action is like a hot knife though butter. Could anyone help me as to what models this could be?. It is made in germany. sorry I can't put pics up as of now.

The only thing I know about Anschutz rifles is that they are known for their accuracy. Is it chambered for .22LR or .22WMR? Does it have one trigger or two? Too bad you can't post pictures of it. If you're looking to sell it though, send me a PM. :D

I was hoping someone else would step in with some answers for you.

You'll probably get some good information if you join and post your query in the Anschutz forum over on www.rimfirecentral.com though.

Is the safety on the right side or a wing type on the back of the bolt?
The side, it's a 64 action, on the bolt it would be a 54 action
Rosewood grip cap with a diamond inlayed?

There will be something stamped somewhere on it. And once you have that Anshutz will send you all you need to know about your rifle. S/N are usually there. But if it is monte carlo stock, it is probably 54 sporter.

They made the 64 with a monte carlo as well, but the grips were a bit different, as was the checkering

I've also seen both actions with roll overs and straight combs.
Seems there was abundant amount of variants out there!

the safety is on the right side of the bolt housing, and it has a blued bolt handle. there are markes on the gun what appear to be a eagle with a Z or N on the bottom of is. the bolt is blued at the back then stainless at the front with a band of blue in the middle of the stainless.

hopefully this helps, also is this an expensive gun??

By the sound of it, you got a 54 sporter...

They are among the best 22lr rifle... Depending on condition and model, I've seen them go from $500 to over $1000

the stock doesn't have checkering and their is no but pad, and also no cheak rest and the sights are different. the action looks almost the same. this gun is pretty old. still in nice shap though. I paid $100 for this one and a model 39 cooey single shot. 50 a rifle, not bad EH? I probally over paid for the cooey though. :)

Yep, you got hosed on that cooey unless it's in really good shape. :p They can be amazingly accurate too though so give it a try!

You see $300 Anschutz rifles from time to time because model and condition play a big role in determining value, but I've never come across a $50 one before. I think it's safe to say you came out ahead even when the cooey is factored in. :D
