I have been looking considering one of these sporting rifles, originally considered the issc but from what ive read this would be the better version..any input from owners with problems.I seen one vid where stock cracked....

lol, yeah the stock is the only part of the gun that has a trace of ISSC on it, it says "ISSC". (Well it probably broke by someone trying to fold the stock. The stock does not collapse or fold. It is at the length so it will still be non restricted. It's still a short rifle, by the way.)

The rest of the gun is pure Anshultz. (on the receiver and grip it says Anshultz). I have the FDE version and it's fantastic. I've been using only reliable ammo (cci) and haven't had an issue at all. I wanted a reliable 22 like my 10/22. (with mags that hold 24 rounds!). I plan on mounting a scope, but so far I've just used the buis provided and it was shooting where I wanted it to go. It has a Anshultz barrel. I feel it's worth the $100 more than the ISSC

This isn't the first time I've heard that the Anschutz version doesn't fold. Mine does... So not really sure what's up with that. It's be exact same dimensions as the ISSC version, so not sure why you're saying the Anschutz version has to have a fixed stock to be NR. There is a a 12" barrel available however which would require you to pin the stock to keep it NR.

Also, I've put several hundred rounds through mine so far, including Winchester and federal bulk, and everything has worked flawlessly. The only thing I haven't fed through it yet is the CCI Minimags I have.

yeah i'll have to measure mine. I was just guessing that it wasn't folding to keep it at length.

The cci minimags is my ammo of choice. I'm done experimenting with different ammo when I know that all my rimfire guns will run without hesitation with cci. I bought a case of 5000 recently for a decent price, so i'm set.

pardon me, actually the only issue I had with my rifle was actually my fault. When inserting the mag I now make sure I put it in tight. I thought it was failure to feeds, but no, i'm dumb

Make sure you take apart the bolt to clean it. Or else it's only a matter of time before it misfeeds. Its a great disservice to people to say that this gun is *better* than the issc gen 2. In all ways that matter they are essentially the same. They have all the potential weaknesses of their issc cousins where it really counts. Learn how to take down the bolt. Replace the crappy soft metal screws holding the bolt and carrier together with better ones. Locktite them as well as the small set screw that holds the firing pin retainer. Check the barrel trunnion. Mine came loose after a while due to poor assembly. Light strikes can usually be elimiated by cutting off 4 coils from the firing pin return spring. Some folks have removed the out of battery safety to get a more consistent travel out of the firing pin. Use high velocity ammo. If its not cycling high velocity ammo (even crappy remington) then chances are its not feeding/striking exactly right.

right on thanks for the advice, I ordered one should be here this week.Ill post how it goes...Ill run some winchester ammo through it as its all we get here, but when I get out of town Ill pick up some better quality.

Thanks for the advice. I haven't cleaned my rifle yet - it's only been out a few times = 350 rounds?

For fun I would take the bolt carrier out of the gun and take a look at it. That'll give you a good idea as to the amount of fouling 350 rounds can do to this gun. It is easy enough to get at the bolt face with the carrier out of the gun, but the breech face is a bit harder and the guts of the bolt are almost all covered by the carrier (aka you'll have to take apart the bolt if you really want to clean it properly). I would consider buying those hk pushpins from rrages.com . See if they'll still ship to Canada.

yeah I knew this wasn't going to be the easiest rifle to disassemble and clean. I'm sure with a bit of practice it will become easy. I just got a quick release cantilever mount with a vortex 1-6x scope. I think it looks cool enough to make it worth the elaborate disassembly

mine came with the stock fixed...The manual says it doesnt have to be taken apart to be cleaned, but there is no way thats true, I ran four hundred or so rds through it and it was dirty...I am thinking in order to take bolt carrier out the 2 small hex screws at the back end of reciever(1 on each side) should do this?.(at least to remove stock to get at other screws? it doesnt collapse)...I had a few failure to feeds but the magazine has to be set well and it seems the more it shoots the better it gets.I never had any misfires with winchester or cci..One thing I am impressed with is for this type of rifle the accuracy out of the box.Its a little more complex than my 1920s era jga single lol.

I had the folder:

I also had the ISSC version. To be honest, they both felt the same.

The barrels were definitely different and supposedly the triggers were different as well, but I didn't keep either long enough to compare.

I got the HK takedown pins for the Anschutz, but it was still a pain in the @$$ to take it down.

Aye. If they were easier to take down and didn't have so many potmetal parts i think there wouldn't be a better semiauto 'tacticool' 22 rifle out there! Wish someone would make a simplified bolt or receiver... that would be awesome but i guess the cost would be prohibitive. If I had the metalworking/cad skills it would be a fun gun to modify for ease of takedown. Essentially you just need a way of holding the bolt in the receiver without so many damned screws. If you could chop of the end of the bolt carrier and then weld it into place in the receiver, then you'd only need a way to hold the bolt/recoil spring in place. You could eliminate all the damned locktite, and cheap metal screws involved in taking down this monstrosity.

This is the definitive version of how to take your rifle apart. I would invest in those HK pushpins, and maybe go to your local fastener store to see if you can replace all the screws with better ones. The ones that come with the rifle are cheap metal and will strip easily (especially the ones in the bolt/carrier). Locktite every bolt and screw on the bolt carrier. If you don't it WILL shake itself apart over time.

I cant seem to find those pins for these guns , however one vid says gsg 522 rifles have alot in common....would the pin set from one of these fit our guns? If not could you let me know the size?
