Is there a fall season for antelope at Swift Currrent? If so, what would an Alberta boy have to pay for the tag/tags?

The reason being is that I have family there, and it would make a great visit/hunt.

Draw

I believe Antelope in Sask are by resident draw only. There is no regular season. Several years ago some idiot bureucrat put in a regular season and the herd was practically wiped out. We went many years with no draws at all and only in the last few have they revovered enough for draws again. Hopefully the mistake won't be made twice

On any given evening I can see almost as much antelope in the hills west of Moose Jaw as I see mule deer and whitetails. They seem to have recovered nicely, but boy are they ever stupid things. I can see how they were near wiped out in one season.

I remember hunting 'speed goats' that season. We found a small herd of about 12. Knocked down two or three, and I wounded and lost one. Those were the only antelopes we saw that year. By chance I got the annual hunter's survey (only twice in over ten years hunting in Saskatchewan). I told this little story, gave the locations and dates. Was not the least bit surprised that the season was closed for a long time afterwards.

Yep for sask hunters only !!!! But thanks for letting us come to alberta and kill more :):):):)

Sorry man I can't help myself!!
and on another note. the open season didn't help but that wasn't the only reason for the population decline. Over hunting in all the migratory states didn't help and the coyotes were very hard on the newborns. I had a survey somewhere that showed the number of coyotes from the arial survey and the number of does without calves and it was some crazy numbers.

What if im from Sask. but live in Man? I know...it wont work, i guess i will have to get my uncle to put in for the draw and "watch" him hunt.
