Does anyone use an Anti Cant Device/Scope level? Is it a good idea to use one for shooting 300-800yds? Which ones are good?

I have a scope with a bubble level inside the objective, so when im looking through the scope im also looking at the bubble level, and I always am correcting the cant because of it, and i would not have noticed so much with out the bubble level there.. one of those things I would not want to go with out now!

If you are shooting scope F class the level is more important to set up your position on the mound. The cheapest way is to buy a cheap level that you can remove the vials from and super glue one to your scope base etc. This will let you see the cant before you look through the scope. When actually shooting you can use the horizon, other targets etc to get your level. More important than being perfectly level is being consistently the same from shot to shot. With irons you really need a level in the front sight.

I use a US Optics level that attaches to my scope base. IIRC He Whose Name Shall Not Be Mentioned is the new distributor for US Optics. PM me for his email/website.

Like B.U.M. I use the same one and have the same Recomendation. It can make a significant difference at extended ranges, me being the cocky sort I am figured it would not be that big of a deal and was pleasantly supprised. It just adds to consistancy and is a great aid in my opinion. GET ONE!!

Anti cant level

Long Range, this is important, however you can easily make your own. You invert a ring on your scope with a weaver base on this base you glue a small level. works well and if you're shooting more than one rifle you simply transfer the level. Bill.

NO but I take the time and get my crosshairs level with the stock. Once set up properly, I use the horizon/target and just be consistent.

The big one if using a pedestal front rest, is that this be level before shooting. otherwise, you will cant the rifle or the stock will be canted to fit the bag. Worse, the rifle will torque during recoil to fit the canted bag and you will start launching bullets inconsistently.

With a level scope/rifle/stock, the only thing to do is set up your rests to be level and you will always know you are good to go.

If shooting with a sling or bipod, I still would have a level crosshair. you don't always have the time to look at a bubble level and even if you do, you can shift when you go back to your sights/scope. You eye/body wants to level that crosshair for better or worse.

Make the rifle fit you in the position you are shooting in, then make the sights work for that position. Your firing position should feel very natural and if so, you will always be level.
