Anti hunting group stops hunting in B.C.

As much as I dislike these very political, anti hunting groups based in big US and European cities, they just improved the hunting for the B.C. resident hunter, by eliminating some wealthy foreign, trophy hunters from B.C. :D

However, these anti hunting groups will hopefully never get enough political power and influence to stop B.C. resident from our legal rights to hunt ?

Just think of all the revenue lost.I agree that all those rich clients comming over can be a pain in the a**,but they bring alot of money into your region. The cash from the sale of the area by tree huggers will be lost ten fold every year by lost revenue fom clients coming to that area of B.C

Write a letter to the editor and to these assclowns and tell them how you feel

Grizzlies first, moose, deer and black bears next.... fu*k those A$$holes....

Letter sent to the editor.. Asshats... do you think they'll stop at grizzlies.... i don't think so... and read the article they propose a ban for resident hunters in 2006... nice huh???

Yeah,I read that too.So, resident hunters are attacked from the coast by the dreadlocks and in the cariboo by the G.O.A.B.C. Perfect, ban my handguns then ban my hunting.Where is the icon for "so enraged I puked"

It's about time we had a Canada wide hunters association and applied for federal funding to bring awarness of the benifets of hunting, and getting kids outside as nature intended.Maybe we would actually have a say in politics then.If every hunter in Canada donated $20 per year towards the purchase of outfitters area's.We as a hunter colilition could purchase 1 or 2 area's per year, gaining alot of area for hunters as well as gaining alot of might with the decision makes. We could start it right here on gunnutz.

If you don't nip this in the bud you guys will betruly f'ed. how long do you think it'll be before they figure out a way to stop all non-aboriginal hunting in the area?. this disease will spread to other provinces as well. we had better pressure our respective porvincial govt's to enshrine hunting rights for non-aboriginal aand non-residents rights. also, this will affect reprocity arrangement woith other jusridictions. I can see some states or porvicnes saying - well if our residents can't hunt in your area, your residents can't hunt in ours...

Looks like the $1.35 million is the exchange value for 30 pieces of silver in BC.

wonder what it'll be in Ontario?

I met a group of those guys a few months ago in Alice Arm (Kitsault).

"We're the Raincoast Foundation and we're here studying grizzly bears.. what are you doing up here"

"Spearfishing for a few days before I head to work"

"Oh? what do you do for work"

"Hunting guide"

Convo ended there.... :D

Which is EXACTLY why we cannot allow any group to control hunting on crown land. That includes Outfitters as well as these nut-bars.

There is ZERO difference between this and what the outfitters are doing. Outfitters pretend the game in the area is all theirs...so what is the difference for THE AVERAGE Canadian hunter? I certainly can't afford outfitter prices.

The outfitters started this trend, now it's going to be a bidding war between outfitters and tree huggers.

With regard to banning hunting, the lease they sign prevents them from doing that. That is pure propoganda by the outfitters.

Here is a critical part of the proposal.
"According to provincial regulations, licensed guide-outfitters must continue to facilitate some hunting in areas for which they are responsible. Raincoast conservation director Ian McAllister, who helped broker the deal, said Raincoast will live up to those obligations by allowing hunting of some ungulates -- hoofed grazing animals -- for food. But henceforth commercial trophy hunting will be a thing of the past."

All that has happened here is the local outfitters were bought out, and replaced with fanatics. That's not good, but it should get outfitters working with resident hunters to insure hunting is still permitted.

So, now the outfitters know what it's like when you fellas set up in MY favorite hunting area.

We need to work together, but we need to work toward the same end. In my opinion, that means we have to secure hunting rights for residents, at the expense of consortiums and private businesses alike.

"The B.C. resident will still be able to hunt and kill..." What were they doing before, hunting and tackling? I hate skewwed writing. Stupid pinko jerks.

I like how thery say First Nations hunt for need, not desire. yahuh, whatever.
Men are men are men, we all like to see what we can harvest and show our friends.
I was just reading in outdoor Canada how when the stupid Alberta gov't allowed all Metis status folks year round "substinence"(sp) rights. They then had a Metis come all the way from B.C. to go up to Grande Cache and shoot a monster Bighorn Ram, then make the 4 hour trek back to his homeland. Try and tell me this is need and I would say you are wrong. If all the 40,000 metis status folks in Alberta decided to hunt trophy class game like that they are going to decimate the entire poulation. We will be lucky if it ever recovered.
Bumped into some Native fellahs two winters back out at the Ya Ha Tinda ranch. They drove all the way from north east Saskabush.
They proceeded to walk up to a couple hundred head of Elk and shoot the heck out of them. Nice work guy's. No wonder it takes so long for the "cracker" to get drawn to hunt out there.

Yeah, right. Can't you see where this is heading?

You really think all they are interested in is stopping non-resident hunting?
