Hi Gents, thought this would be interesting, as most if not all of us are historians in some regard
Going through a bunch of old war era papers and documents I've gathered over the years. Found a leaflet that I remember being given in the early 1990's in Europe. Basically it was a leaflet the Russians mass made to distribute to opposing German forces. Signed by many high ranking German officers who surrendered at Stalingrad, it tries to make the point of all Germans should surrender to the Russians and form as one to fight Fascism. Kind of interesting document, I will scan it later if anyone would like to read it. Walther von Seydlitz-Kurzbach formed the National Committee For A Free Germany under Soviet rule. As thousands of their fellow men died in captivity, some fought against their own. I find this history fascinating, and tragic. Wish my German was better, would love to take the time to decipher some of this stuff. Thanks for looking.
