Hello, just thought I'd ask... If I bought an an Antique status handgun and rechambered it in a new Caliber.... Does it retain it's Antique status.
Thanks for looking.
Cheers
Brian

it must be chambered in a round that is considered antique as well i believe. post down in black powder and antiques, they know the in's and outs down there.

as long as its not a caliber on the no go list just remember that just because its been remember in a modern caliber does not mean factory ammo is a good idea for instance .45 acp webleys factory .45 acp is almost double the proof load(these are test loads only to be fired a handful of times) of the newest .455 webley let alone the black powder era mk1 and mk2 webleys

No antiques have antique status with 22lr and the the only 32 in rimfire and it's hard stuff to find. If you want an antique your best bet is to find a 32 rimfire converted to 17hmr or 455 webley converted to 45 acp and load your own. I have an 8mm lebel and was lucky to find factory loads and now have brass for it.
