Was two weeks ago. I passed - it's a reblue.

Well even reblued its worth $1800 Canadian maby more.
Theres a renickled one on Collectors firearms thats like $1800 US that dont look near as nice.

Alot of collectors up here shoot there guns and are more concerned about the Mehanics of a gun like bores condition ect.
I find its the Americans that hate refinished antique guns not the guys i talk to up here.
Whoever bought this gun got lucky and was smart to pic it up. ;)

Just b/c you try to sell them for $1800 doesn't make it worth that ;). PT Barnam oft said a sucker is born every minute... I see non-reblued ones for about $800 pretty regularly.

I'd have paid the $675.00 for that gun in a heartbeat. I shoot my antiques, and mechanical condition is always the concern for me, as Dingus said. My collection of antiques is a little thinner these days, although I still have a few revolvers kicking around. I'll have to build it back up soon. All my money has been going into my currrent bike build (Harley chopper, one off custom, built by me). It takes all my time and all my money, but it's almost done. Another week or two and then it's back to my normal gun collecting thing again.:D

Hey Claven next time you see an antique WG reblue with a very good+ bore and lockup for 8 bills pass the contact on to me I'll send you a thankyou card and a hundred bucks!.
Truth be told an antique revovlers worth is whatever rebar is going for a pound, it's value is pretty much up to the buyer. This is a case of no foul no harm. The fact that we can get beautiful, shootable revolvers with great historical and mechanical interest for the price of a couple norincos with mods is amazing to me.

Thats a Webley WG 1889 and you see em go in orignal condition for $800 regularly .
ooooK if ya say so, LOL

That gun deregisterd would fetch $2000 easy at a Hains auction in Alberta,
good old Webley MKIs and MKIIs in 455 bring close to that at his auctions Never mind Webley WGs.

Its our buisness as Antique Revolver Collectors to know these things ;)
If i bought it i wouldnt sell it. Just enjoy shooting it.

You guys just don't run in the right circles, I guess. Honestly, they are NOT that rare at the non-retail level.

In fact, I knew about that particular webley WEEKS before it ever was posted on Marstar's site.

The Horror The Horror :( Please dont torture us or i will say i see orignal sharps Rifles at our local gararge sales :p

Seriously if your really seeing WG 1889s or even 1894s and your not confuseing them with Webley MVIs 455s for $800 do the seller and us a favor and Tell one of us Please there Buddy pal o mine :) :D

Hey Claven2, I am a much nicer guy then dingus, I am sure you would like me much better LOL. Maybe put dingus in the number two slot and bump me up to number one. I mean heck have you seen his posts in the pic forum he does'nt hardly even need more sweet antiques, I on the other hand am stuck with a couple old mkIIs (one might even be a reblue) and sundry french guns in odd bore sizes (see my wtb in the reload EE).
Supply and demand. For us out west the supply is tight and the demand high, maybe in upper canada the demand and supply are different.
Cheers all, Lets hope Claven proves us wrong and we all end up eating crow and playing with new toys this winter.
