Good day. I collect Civil War period arms but was offered a trade for a Winchester model 1892 which was manufactured in 1892 . Is ammunition available for these rifles. I can't find anything on line and not sure what to look for. Thanks for any help.
Yes. an 1892 Winchester would be 44/40, .38/40, .32/20 or 25/20 chambered. Barrels will be marked 44 WCF, 38 WCF, 32 WCF or 25 WCF in that time period. Ammunition is available but availability is spotty for all but the 44/40.
