I believe that S&W First Model double action revolvers started production prior to 1898 and continued into the early 1900's. Would only the ones manufactured prior to 1898 be classified as "antique" (.44 Russian) ?

Not all of the S&W DA Framed 44 russians are antique in Canada i think the serial number cut off is around 52600 best to contact CFC if its above 52000.
If its lower its OK in Canada.
There are all pre 1899 thats what gets some Canadians in troble is thinking the USA and Canada have the same rules we do not. the USA gets and extra year on Canada.
