If any of you local Alberta guys want your deer/moose/ caribou/antlers or bear/cougar skulls scored officially, I just want to extend my free services to you.

I'm in Edmonton and will gladly score your animal (if you can leave it with me for a week).

That way, maybe we can meet up and have a coffee. And it will keep me busy and off the streets.....

You guys realize that scoring a deer rack is dirt simple right?

I think Randy is just looking for some guy time and a night of drinking... not such a bad offer!! ;)

It is? How about scoring something like this one then? :D You guess which are the typical and non typical points...this one's not that simple :p

Huntinstuff...are you a certified B&C measurer? I know a guy in Edmonton looking to get a sheep scored.

Non-typicals definitely take longer to score, especially a buck with that much "junk".

First thing you do is sit down and evaluate the rack to determine which points are typical and which are non-typical and mark 'em (pencil). Lots of bucks scores can get screwed around at this point. IMHO, Don McGarvey got f**ked over by U.S. B&C scorers, that didn't want another World Record north of the border.

But once you have determined the non-typical/typical points, they score just the same as a typical. Take your time.

You need a few simple tools to accurately score a deer rack.

1) The proper B&C score sheet for the species in question.
2) A bicycle brake cable. For measuring lengths of beams, points, palms...
3) A flexible clear plastic ruler, to accurately mark the origin of points.
4) 1 pencil.
5) Tape measure.
5) The gizmo for measuring inside spread (wooden slide tape) is harder to find...
