Hey all,

I just purchased a Mini-14 for a friend and would like to include a case of ammunition with the rifle. I'm thinking something along the lines of 500rds of AE 55gr. or similar. I've checked most of the CGN sponsors and it doesn't look like there are any super deals to be had, so I just wanted to check if I've missed a supplier that might be advertising a good deal on 223/556 at the moment?

Thanks!

Very good question. A friend of mine is looking to get a 223 and is wondering the same. I guess the norinco days are over. Good thing I grabbed a couple thousand rounds while I could.

Same here. Also grabbed some Barnaul which shot very well. Hard to believe you could get 1150 rounds, brass, for $335 a year ago when it's about $500+ now.

I don't know if it's a good deal or not but I bought 500rnds of MFS/Barnaul .223 for $197.50 at Al Flaherty's. So far it worked fine in my LMT against paper….

No kidding. Prices have gone nuts. A year ago a box of 50 rds of 5.7x28 could be bought for $27, it's now $37 or more at the same store. Between demand and our dollar it's hard times. You really gotta spend the cash now.

Reliable Gun Vancouver has some UMC 1,000 for $469.99 and the have Barnaul 500 rounds of 55 grain or 62 grain for $199.99. If you're willing to wait, the best time of the year to buy guns and ammo is the Christmas sales.

canada needs some quality reloads at sub 35 cents, not too much to ask right? its not economical to be more than a casual 223/556 shooter at 50 cents.

Wasp Munitions seem to be the only ones in the reloading business right now. But the prices aren't too competitive compared to regular .223/5.56

But I might pick some up to support them and hopefully over time as they grow the prices will lower.
