Any 308 surplus coming this year?

Just have a look what is available in the US to see what may come here. It is also very hard/impossible to get ammo from surplus if the the factory no longer exists (approval)

And you got nothing to tell? Normally deals are made months in advance...

Heard from a distributor that a small batch of SA will come in december, but he could say anything about price.

The lowest I found was 12$/20 for 580 rounds, kinda step, if Some come at around 300-325$/1000 again, I think 5000 will be the way to go :)

There will be some 7.62x51 (308) surplus in Alberta a soon as next week. And from what ive been told it will not be surprizingly cheap. But it will be here and in fairly large volume.

scallywags Who and how much?

Sandroad in Nov. 2006 Districorp was selling it 329$/1000, so It can be under 400$ again..

Current price are jacked off because almost no one in Canada have some.. same as 5.56mm. Once a big batch come in, dealers want to sell it fast.

I had heard at the club that John's crew at Marstar might be getting some Norchinko .308 in non-corrosive, brass cased (hopefully not Berdan primed) cases for around $500. Supposed to be here in a couple of weeks.

Norinco stuff any good for bolts and M14's?

And 2 years ago gasoline prices were 80 cents per liter. We will see 308 surplus under $400 about the same time we see gasoline under 90 ¢/L. There is very little decent 308 surplus in the world so it is priced accordingly.

As for Marstar, yes, I can see Norinco for around $575 (that's my predicted price)

The guy to talk to would be Allen at Milarm. He just got a shipment in but he said he had to pay lots for it so i'm only guessing it's not going to be bargain basement pricing on it.

Why surplus 7.62x51 (or .308 Win.) is more expensive than 7.62x54R is beyond me. Other than perceived supply/demand issues and a customer's willingness to pay inflated prices, I just don't see it.

I believe Del Selin Gunsmith in Vernon still has cases of the SA 7.62 x 51. Unfortunately its not cheap or boxer primed. 250 545 6413
