Any 9.3mm (.366) hunters out there?

I have yet to take anything in North America with it, but the guys I know that hunt Africa talk very well of the calibre.

Great and time proven cartridge. Ive taken a few big game animals with one. Had no problems getting the job done. Hard to argue with a 285gr bullet at 2450 fps with moderate recoil.

Black bears, whitetail deers, mooses, wolf... They're all dead.. none needed a finishing shot and I never recovered a bullet.

If you don't reload do not buy a 9.3x57. There is only one kind of factory ammo available @ close to $80,- plus tax and shipping.

There is more factory choices available for the 9.3x62. Also be careful when buying one of those cheap offerings from some dealers on here. Lots of them have problems not mentioned in the description.

Not sure about moderate recoil. 33-35ft/lbs is pretty noticeable lol.

286 grain PPU 9.3x62, works well, knocks elk and deer down well, heavy and not too fast, didn't damage meat like a 300WM, but I'm gonna reload with 250 grain NAB's this season and a little faster.

No experience, yet, with any of the 9.3 cartridges, but I had a fairly light 35 whelen (8lb empty) that had more recoil than I had expected when loaded with 250 grain bullets. Manageable, but more than a maiden's caress! Only shot (finished for a partner) a good sized black bear, but it was decisive.

I have both the Husqvarna 9.3 x 57 and the 9.3 x 62 , still yet to get them out hunting yet , Hope before long , main reason is I wrecked my back about a year and a half ago , haven,t been doing any hunting at all , just working on guns for now.

I can tell you a 286 PRVI out of my 9.3x74 Ruger #1 kills animals quite effectively, with little meat damage

we are few using it but i do think now we are shy to explain how good it is ...

that caliber was created before the 375hh and worked as well that some countries lifted the .375 mini for hunting the big V.

and the 250 accubonds resolved the issue of longer range.

most of the bullets are very good for the use we have here.

enjoy the hunt and report.

I've take two water buffalo in Australia with a 9.3x62, with 320 grain woodleigh SP and solids. It seems to be a very good performer, without too much serious recoil. I've never used it in Canada, the 6.5x55 is good for almost anything from coyote to moose.

I have a moose draw tag this year and may try the 9.3x62 with either the 286 partition or 250 accubond.

I Imported a lightly used one from the states last year for a bison draw I got. Unfortunately It hasn't drawn any blood yet, but I sure feel safe in the woods carrying it around. Look forward to taking it moose hunting this year.
Sako 75 stainless, Shilen 23" barrel in a McMillan hunter swirly stock. Saving up to put a 1-6 euro scope on it. Shoots 286gr a-frames just under an inch, but I'll try norma oryx later this summer and see how they do.

Cz 550 9.3x62 was very effective on a moose. Used 290 grain Matrix Ballistics bullet. Also have a model 96 Husqvarna 9.3x57 shooting the same bullet at 2160 fps. Going to carry that one in the fall when we can hunt both moose and bison
