I realy like the 1911, and i'm wondering if there is just Para nighthawk who offers 9mm 1911. I like Para, but their 9 aren't single stack and nighthawk are just too expensive. Is there any suggestions? any experience?

STI makes several 9mm single stack 1911s. So do Kimber and Springfield. If you don't mind a used gun, 9mm Colts are still relatively easy to find. Another option would be to buy a .38 Super gun and change the barrel.

This kinda makes my mouth water. Next on my list in 9mm.

Although I don't own a Trojan I've recently shot one owned by another member here. It's a very pistol--excellent trigger pull, very accurate, and the 9mm recoil is very mild (which is expected in an all-steel pistol!). It had the adjustable Novak-style sights as shown above--very easy to pick up. I really liked it--and the price on them is not too bad, either.

Hey BHD we should get a group buy from Questar.I would definatly get one.
Do you have a line on theese?

Freedom Ventures is the Canadian distributor for STI.......I got a quote from them the other day...wrote it down and can't find it:mad:

I have a Trojan in .45 and a Ranger II in .45 so I thought I should round it out with a 9mm.

Group buy....I may be up for it, hmmmmm when were you thinking PC9 ?

uhhhh....we wouldn't be hijacking this thread would we????

I tried the Kimber and it had some feeding issues. Not saying Kimber is bad but I wont be buying one anytime soon.
I will contact freedom venture and get a quote.
lwiph sorry to highjack your thread.

I love my NP29.

Truly, you should not buy ONE !

Buy TWO of them ! Especially for $ 360 (or something like that).

My NP29 shoots better than I can hold it. It now accompanies my wife's IMBEL (Springfield) M1911 9mm in the safe.

Cheers,
Barney

My "sorta'" 1911 9mm (which I adore) is a Star model BM. It's a slightly downsized 1911 style pistol, the same except that it doesn't have a grip safety.

I had a Star Model B 9mm once. Man did it shoot! Got it for $125 with 3 magazines, to boot! Wish I'd kept it... :(

All I got now is a Colt Combat Commander 9mm...

I just went to Phoenix Range in Edmonton to order an STI ranger II in 9mm. YOu might as well go with a more compact pistol if you want a 1911 in 9mm.
If the trigger is anything like the crisp/light one on the STI trojan they had in stock there, it should be an excellent gun.

If paraordnance made an LTC in 9mm it would be ideal.

He's silly, but he's right. I had Paul Barrette build me a 5" 9mm 1911 on a Colt frame about 12 years ago; Bar-Sto barrel, Caspian forged barstock slide, and everything else imaginable except ambidextrous safeties. Very heavy pistol, what with that monstrously dense slide and that small hole through the middle.

I remember Paul looking at me like I was nuts; at the time, he was building a lot of 9x25s for the IPSC crowd. "You want me to build you a 1911 in minor?". But he took my cheque anyway. I don't regret a dollar. Shooting snake-eyed double-tap As is ridiculously easy with this thing. Muzzle flip? What is this muzzle flip of which you speak? With issued IVI ball, it's totally controllable.

If you have a well-fitted barrel and good sights & trigger, and if you handload very carefully, a 9mm 1911 can provide NRA bullseye-quality accuracy. But more practically, it's cheap, easy, and fun to shoot.

Not getting rid of mine.
