Any Advice? Surplus Ammo

Hello Everyone,

Planning to buy my first and probably only SKS. Can you guys give me any advice on which ammo is the best or are they all the same. Czech, Russian, China, Ukraine? They have some non corrosive China ammo at Lever, anyone experience whether it really is non corrosive or not?

20 cents ammo (surplus) vs 4 times more for non-corrosive. It worth cleaning .... unless you want to shoot 5-10 rounds only, but then, whats the purpose of an SKS lol

If you can, get the big green crate of ammo (inside looks like a big sardine/spam can most times); instead of the smaller unpainted/natural wood crate of ammo (inside has two big green cans) for your first crate. The spam can has ammo that comes on stripper clips. While the other comes wrapped in paper or cardboard boxes.

SFRC has Czech 7.62x39 124gr FMJ bullet, steel case, corrosive, berdan primed. There are 800 rounds per box. 150...

Also... he has the sks on sale as well

Just one note, while SKS bores are chrome plated, the gas cylinder is NOT. That should be removed and cleaned as well.
