Any comments on this SKS?is it good?

the stock will warp as its plastic and crap (my buddy had the same one), the scope will lose zero as its cheap (u get what you pay for).

Sks's are meant to be in wood, leave it that way.

I experimented with the Tapco route, and IMHO the SKS-Tapco is a very decent quality stock option that offers taller shooters greater LOP and adjustability. However, I quickly gave my Tapco T6 away because I was able to achieve tighter and more consistent groups with the refurb laminate stock. Yeah, they aren't that "cool" by modern standard, but they can be easily stripped and refinished in tung oil -- which greatly improves their look. In the end millions of these suckers were made and are a dime a dozen, so appearance isn't really important.

I like the Tapco stock, but iron sights and orig. Mag. The wood is best, but I like the "black" look myself. I find most of the add on stuff for the SKS junk, but custom iron sights, etc are sweet. Remember, it's your gun, so if you want to dress it up, go nuts.

I got a pile of 'that junk' that I took back off:mad: .... its best original:)

I agree. I was going to bubba my sks but she's so beautiful in her natural state, I have a hard time doing it...

Maybe a home made angle iron for a scope mount.. in good taste... that is easily removed without taking away from its unique beauty... maybe, some day.:)

They are great rifles to have. I agree with everyone on the natural look but the Tapco is good to (in my opinion). In the end as previously stated the gun is yours so do as you please.

Just one thing, if you go the tapco route, I had a lot of filing to do with the handguard to get it to fit and close properly on the gun. Just my experience and it is important to note that in my infinite wisdom I placed it backwards on the gas piston tube and didn't realize until it was too late.
