I have a Cooey 600 and I am wondering how accurate these gun are? What groupings do you guys get and is it worth it upgrading to a Marlin XT-22 or Savage Mark II or Norinco NS-522? How does the Cooey 600 compare to their accuracy?

I don't think I'd be far off saying 60% of people here own one, or did, or own another model Cooey.

They are extremely accurate. Even the oldest and rustiest of them.

Anything with the Cooey name is pure Canadiana and IMO should be preserved.

I unfortunately sold my 600 in a moment of stupidity, but I still have a Model 39 which I love.

I share cooey-fever with many CGN'ers.

I would happily trade my 600 for a Marlin Xt, Savage MkII, or Norinco ns-522...just sayin'.

The Cooeys I have owned were certainly accurate enough for my kind of fun. These were "utilitarian" rifles of their day. Affordable and robust. Lots about them to love for sure.

I find it easy to believe that any of the 3 you've listed would bring accuracy to a higher level. Newer isn't always better, but you can't tell if your next Cooey was stored warm n' dry, or at the bottom of the Atlantic.

i have 4 cooeys, a 75 a 600 a 60 and a pre 60
all are reliable and accurate - not anny accurate but can hold there own - a late model one grovved for a scope is a good rifle
but there are better but you need to spend more

I bought a 60 off here a while back and gave her a good cleaning and oil'n.
Dang gal smiled back at me.
Put a scope on it and was impressed by the decent group she displayed.
I gave it to my youngest daughter and told her when something nicer shows
up I would give it to her in trade of the Cooey.
A Winchester Model 69A did arrive and she flatly refused the trade.
Evidently, she's more Canadian than I thought.

Bought a model 60 with a scope on with the $25 I earned picking roots on the farm for 60 cents an hour when I was 15. Man, I made many incredible shots with it. Still have it, still love the gun. But now though I'd have to give a slight edge to the Brno #1's I have.

I got my 600 out this weekend after putting a Weaver B4 scope on it. I got it when I was 12, a gift from my Dad who died years ago so It is kind of special to me. I think I have fallen in Love with it again.

My 600 was the first gun I ever owned which was a gift from my mom & dad when I was 13. I still have it and it's plenty accurate. I'll pass it on to my boy who said he would love my collection and would cherish the 600 because it would be third generation at that point.

I liken it to the bolt action repeater equivalent of my Marlin 60SS semi.
