Hi, wondering if there are any cowboy action shoots around GP, I'm not aware of any in GP. I have been reading some threads and see that there is one happening in Medicin Hat coming up but closer would be nice.
Thanks

Closer then Med Hat but still a fur' piece from G P, the Canadian Championships of Cowboy Action are being held this weekend ( fri. sat. sun.) at the Pebbles Ridge Range SW of Rocky. www Albertafrontiershootistsociety, they also hold two day shoots one weekend a month throughout the summer.

While Medicine Hat is about 9 hours from you, Medicine Hat runs a 2 day match on both the May & October long weekends. Saskatoon runs a 2 day match at the end of May & at the end of July, the first week of August they hold the Canadian SASS Regionals which is a match you really don't want to miss. In June Vegreville puts on a annual day match and Calgary has day matches throughout the summer. You are probably better off with Rocky Mountain House since it is only about 5 hours away from you.

Come on down. I first came to Rocky Mountain House while they where still at the Rocky Gun Club. Nicest people you would ever meet! They will welcome you, and get you into the spirit of things. Me and the Wife wanted to check out the whole cowboy action scene and they sure welcomed us. We were total newbies to the sport but from the beginning they had us involved.

Will we be seeing you this weekend. Stop by the "boss's trailer and ID yourself, I probably know your cowboy alias but Mr Moose doesn't ring a bell.
The new range is coming right along and with the large camping area available we are almost back to having what we had before the "purge". We had hoped to have the side berms completed so we could implement "down range action" movement on some scenarios but the wet weather has delayed that (unless Smoke got some done this week) operation.

There will be at least 3 and maybe 4 cannons there this weekend to shake the ground a bit Saturday evening (might even be Friday evening as well) so if anybody is coming just to watch bring a camera. These aren't table-top models, they are 1/2 scale to full size and talk with a loud and authoritative voice
