I'm curious if anyone is doing custom work for 3-d printed gun parts. I have a Carbine stock kit for a Glock 40 I would really like to modify. Would simply involve creating a longer butt portion to increase LOP. Is anyone reliable offering this sort of service?

Depending on the shape of the stock, it could be pretty straightforward to do. Did you have a design in mind, or any pics that you could share? You could PM me as well.

I'm tall with long arms so I would probably need both a longer stock and a spacer or long butt piece together. Both are likely simple for anyone knowledgeable. I really appreciate the replies I will take a look at that program and take Josh up on his kind offer to look at what I'm thinking of.

I can print some, are you thinking a part that replaces the follower and attaches to the spring? Or sits on top of the follower (this would be my preference). Or are you gluing this thing into the action?

I'd be interested in the one that sits on top of the follower.

Thanks, Paul

I'm using fusion up to 30 hrs a week for work over the last 4 years if I can be any help. Between my coworkers there are 4 3d printers to choose from.

With enough time and money, anything is possible!

Done, it just drops into the bdl mag well and sits flush to the curve of the bolt. Tested great with my 80s 308. I don’t have a 223 but it’s likely to work fine.

Wow, that was fast. :)

That looks good. The only thing I can see is that some have a slight "bump" near the feed ramp.end that lifts the bullet and avoid contact with the feed ramp.

I can add that feature but I think it may not be necessary. I dont see any contact with the feed ramp sine it’s flush with the bottom of the bolt so the bullet sits higher than the feed ramp and skips it entirely. Maybe it’s useful for really short cartridges like a 6br where the tip tilts down? I can test those as well.

You're probably right. I don't either way as I've never used one. Just looked at pics online so no expert here. :)

I think the bump makes sense for 223 since the bolt is much bigger than the case so the case centreline is lower than bolt centreline. The bump pops the tip up just a bit to ensure there’s no chance it hits the chamber rim. I’m printing a set with a bump to test the entry angle on a 223 snap cap.

Colour preferences? I’m printing a bunch in red so it’s high contrast.

No colour preference here.

I'm thinking I'd like to try two. One for a 6CM and the other for a 222. Both in 700 BDLs. Maybe a bump would be better for the 222/223 cases.
