Any CZ 85 Combat owners out there?

I just purchased a CZ 85 Combat and I am pulling my hair out trying to find a holster for it to do my black badge training this summer. I have checked the online dealers across Canada and I am starting to look state side now. There seems to be little to no information out there on CZ 85 gear but a lot on the CZ Shadow. Does anyone have a CZ 85 out there that can offer up some options of what kind of holster works good (for competition and range) and where to get one either locally or state side.

Thanks

Wouldn't a holster set-up for CZ75 work for you? I think the pistols are almost identical IIRC.
I have a Bladetech which suits my needs nicely.

I have checked the Bladetech site many times and it seems that the holster is very model specific and there are a lot of cz models. There is a specific model for the CZ 85 Combat and one for the CZ 75. I might try contacting Bladetech directly but they will probably just tell me to buy the one that is specific for CZ 85 (I kinda already knew that). The problem is that because of its popular brother , the Shadow, no one seems to be stocking the CZ 85 model. I would like to hear from someone who has the 85 combat model and a 75 or Shadow model holster that could tell me if they are compatible.

Thanks for the input.

I sold my 85C some time ago, so I don't remember all the details, but this might be helpful:

Shadow has a full length dust cover, and the 85C doesn't (85C would be a loose fit in a Shadow holster). Your 85C has an ambi slide release, right? That might be the major factor preventing the use of the 75 holster.

You could always just go directly to one of those race-specific holsters that only holds the barrel and the trigger guard (they're universal fit).

Thanks alpining, I have looked at those and they seem like a good option at this point. They are a bit on the pricey side and I would still need mag pouches, belt and spare mags. I have been looking at the CR Speed model A holster for about $106, anyone have any experience with one of these?

I have a CZ 85C and Shadow both in 9mm and a TS in .40. I have an Ultimate Ghost holster that fits all of them. Its a competition holster tho, not a full cover like a Bladetec.

Could be an option for you. CZ Custom has them, but check sponsers here first.

Cheers

I have a Blade Tech (left hand) holster that I normally use for my Shadow but it also fits the 85C.

The right side of the holster has a groove for the end of the slide stop pin that protrudes from the right side of the Shadow, but the same groove is big enough to accept the right hand slide release lever on the 85C.

The fit of the 85C is slightly looser than the Shadow but easily fixed by tightening the tension screws slight.

It is certainly adequate for a course and probably even for competition, although maybe not as quick as a race holster.

I have used a blade tech for my 85 Combat for IPSC available at Brant here: http://www.brantshootingsports.com/catalog/holsters/blade-tech?page=1

The blade tech holster also worked with my Kadet kit very well.

I have since upgraded to a Shadow and have a CR Speed which is interchangeable with both the 85C and Shadow with no adjustment required.

I also have a sigtac holster which fits my 85C well (but not the kadet kit). Keeps pistol more secure for multigun shoots with locking mechanism. Believe it only cost about $40 from Freedom Ventures.

Contact Blade Tech direct. They will ship to Canada. Let them know you have tried to find one in Canada without results. They also make very good mag holders as well. If you have a waist size under 38 I have a CR double belt with a speed holster with four mag holders suitable for your 85C. PM me if you are interested. Personally I would go with a Blade Tech dropped and offset for IPSC and get a standard backing piece so you can shoot IDPA as well.

Take Care

I use a modified Hogue Powerspeed Universal Speed Holster. Removed the magnets and added a barrel retaining plastic lug (similar to a CR Speed) for a more secured retention. A Bladetech CZ75 SP01 Holster will also work provided you tighten the screw on lower part by the rail.

I got a Blade Tech IDPA pack for my 85 combat. The CZ75 and the CZ85 combat use the same holster. The IDPA pack come with a double mag pouch.

I would look at Zahal (https://zahal.org/product/imi-defense-level-2-cz-85-holster-imi-z1330/) It holds the 85 Combat as good as Blackhawk Serpa Level 2 retention. I have both. The Zahal one sits just alii further out making draws very easy.
