I found this S&W Model 29-2 .44 magnum a few weeks back. You won't see a lot of 6.5 inch Dirty Harry guns as clean as this one is. Enjoy--

An extra fine 6.5 inch you have there !! Superb condition !! And early 70's vintage like Harry Calahan's Model 29...

For you ``Dirty Harry'' fans, Harry Calahan's set up:

8 3/8's 29-2 myself.I've never shot a smoother revolver.I would say it gives perfect something to look up to.

Works of art!

I wonder how many 29's were sold solely due to the influence of the Dirty Harry series? Harry carried a 6 1/2" (but it looked longer in some publicity shots), but the movie carried demand for a 44 Mag over to other M29 barrel lengths and other revolver makes. Those who sadly choose something else for their 44 Mag revolver needs consider the M29 "over-rated" and "over-priced", and have discovered that beauty comes at a cost.

No longer "the most powerful handgun in the world" (by a long-shot), but probably the most powerful that can be shot well by most.

....

I don't say the Model 29 is over-rated, but they are overpriced for me. I'm not sad about my choice. I settled happily for my Redhawk.

The first 29 I purchased was advertised as a 8" silhouette target model which turned out to be a 10". My wife took one look at that gun and burst into laughter. Finding a lockable box to transport it to the range was a real problem. I promptly traded that gun for this one which according to the seller was used as a wilderness carry sidearm and thus the holster wear.

She will be heading to Gunnar for a re-blue come the new year.

And YUP It's my Dirty Harry gun for sure!
