Any Duty Pistol Shooters?

+1.
PPC is a step up from shooting qualifiers for work, which are challenging enough on its own:rolleyes: . IPSC is PPC plus->
drawing from the holster, reloading quickly and on the move, shooting thru ports, over bridges, under tunnels, thru doorways and moving (running, jumping, ducking, etc) all with a firearm in your hand. You shoot at not only paper targets, but also metal, and moving targets, up close and far away targets, partially covered targets; all while trying to go as fast and as safely as possible. It is like PPC on speed. PPC shooters usually make excellent IPSC shooters once you learn the game.

yeah I tried PPC a couple of times.. I dunno...it sort of made me feel like I was in a coma. Try IPSC, it might be more of what you might light.

What's a Blackbadge? We shoot both PPC and Duty here at our club. I find PPC a tad dull its why I like duty little bit faster paced and all stock guns.

I shoot PPC, IPSC, IDPA and Tactical 2 & 3 gun events. They are all fun in their own rights. I use duty pistols in all of them (Glock 17 and XD40 Tactical)

where are you located (province, town, city). Someone on this forum should be able to direct you to a BB instructor. Everyone who wants to shoot in IPSC matches has to have this course, regardless of experience or background. It is a course that explains the rules of the range in regards to IPSC and the sport in general. Consider it a like an advanced safety course, with movement, with barriers, walls, etc...
Safety, accuracy, and Speed. Like PPC and general firearms usage, safety is paramount, and is accuracy; the only big change is the speed at which you move is dependent on how fast and safe you can move with a firearm.

CPCA Duty Pistol-IDPA-IPSC: Shot Em All Eh!

I really like all three of these.

Shoot Em All! Have some fun and gain practical experience.

My pick for ALL three is a 1958 era S&W Model 39-2 with a level III Safariland retention holster.

However for IPSC and IDPA I do have a high ride Bianchi holster as well.

I also used this same rig to shoot DCRA NSCC or CFSAC Service Pistol and Practical Pistol. The S&W Model 39-2 is very accurate and shoots the 147 grain 9mm well. It is also inexpensive ammunition that "works all the time".

All three matches are "Equally Challenging" and FUN.

The CPCA Duty Pistol is very challenging and is very practical in my opinion.

Really had a lot of fun at Thunder Bay in the Thunder Bay Combat (PPC) Club Duty Pistol Matches in July 2006.

Try them all in turn with the same rig if you can. We cant have too many pistol competitions eh!

Those that can hit a 3" x 4" 10 ring on a target at 50 yards shoot PPC, for those that can't......well, we hear that IPSC is looking for more people. he he he.
