Any experiences with the new production Norinco 7.62x54r white box?

Hello!

Has anyone tried the new production supposedly non-corrosive 7.62x54r ammo, the one that comes in a white box?
I've seen contradictory listings with most retailers selling it off as being NC, but Tenda at some point listed it as being corrosive (But now reverting back to calling it non-corrosive).

Anyone has had experiences with this ammo? Or, perhaps done a nail test?

Found some locally this weekend. Bought a couple boxes. It is new production. Didn't have time to do a comparison test, but did do a individual test, will have results tomorrow.

I picked up a case of that stuff from Lever Arms about a year ago. At least it's in the same white boxes.

I was surprised by its consistency out of an M91/30 with a PE scope at 300yds. It held everything into 1 1/2 moa. The powder burns dirty and even though it's supposed to be non corrosive, I cleaned afterwards like it was. Not worth taking chances with expensive rifles.

It is as I had suspected, it is corrosive... Tenda was initially right. Retailers should take note of this and properly mark their product listings

I did a nail test a while back after I bought some from SFRC..advertised as non-corrosive.. That was the only reason I bought it
It is CORROSIVE.. Just like TENDA said

"New Production" doesn't mean it wasn't newly produced to feed PLA belt feds, it just means it hasn't been sitting in a crate for 20 years. Still surplus, still corrosive.

Not entirely true, the Norinco 7.62x39 in the white box is new production and it’s def non corrosive. Too bad the x54r isn’t, at least it shoots decent.

I took the date stamp to be 1981, may have been repackaged in 2018 from those loose in the can, to make them more saleable.

You are 110% correct, never had a problem with it but after the range cleaning is essential, with corrosive and non corrosive. Berdan type priming is the giveaway.

Canadian tire here is selling white boxes of what im pretty sure is Chinese surplus with no markings what so ever shot my mosin about 3 months ago and cleaned it about 2 weeks ago didn't see any rust but it was pretty dirty after about 15rd I did spray it with wd40 after shooting it. I went up to a buddy's house last minute and forgot my cleaning stuff at home I normally take my Russian cleaning kit(jag,bore guide,scrediver thing) and some patch material to give it a quick swab
