Another newbie question.

I have a Browning A Bolt, 270 WSM topped with a Burris Fullfield 3-9.

I know, not the best long range rig, but I have caught the bug. Maybe next season I can get a bench rest rifle.

In the mean time I am making due with what I have. I have not been doing well finding practical shooting advice. Any good links or books people are aware of??

While I am new to long range, I am not a newbie shooter. I am looking for advce beyond the beginnner advice. Also, I live in a remote area, I know of no long range shooters here. Our range is private and all members know the combination to the lock. I am usaully there alone, so hanging out ans asking questions isn't an option.

Thanks

It is geared more towards

100/200 yard benchrest but the book The Benchrest Shooters Primer is a good read. It has a lot of the better articles that have appeared in Precision Shooting over the years all in one book.

Like stated earlier www.benchrest.com or www.6mmbr.com or www.longrangehunting.com are some sites with a lot of EXCELLENT advise. These are guys that eat, breathe, and sleep shooting.

Good luck. Just be sure on your decision of Shortrange or longrange. In most cases it is far easier to shoot shortversus long.

Long Range Shooting

Hi Riden
I see you have a PEI flag by your name. If you are on PEI where are you going to find a place to shoot a 1,000 yards? I came from there and it's just a thought, because the only range I know of is Squaw Point and it is only something like 500 yards.

Good point.

I am too from there, but not any more, I am in AB.

I am just too lazy to load another avatar and the flag was easy.
