Any good surplus?

Stop by my place and pick up the Spanish Mauser I recently finished? :)

Well, ok, that wasn't subtle.

In Montreal (in Longueuil actually), every few months there's a Gun and Militaria show. Went once, lots of stuff, some nice, some not so nice, but an interesting variety.

Thanks for the offer, but I`m on holidays and travelling from Ville de Quebec, to Ottawa, via Kingston, and back to Montreal next weekend. So I`ve got limited time and was wondering what surplus stores may be in the area that I am travelling.

But thanks anyway.

Contact John Denner, he might have some items of interest. You will be travelling in his general area.

the gunshow is next weekend,sept.13 on the south shore.there's about 3 or so surplus stores on st.laurent boulevard north of china town.around president kennedy i believe...

in boucherville(south shore on autoroute 25 near montreal coming from quebec city) there's a SAIL surplus.i haven't been there in years but hear it's still good...

If your leaving from Quebec city then l'd suggest a place on the side of autoroute 20 just before arriving in Montreal

Prefair Army Surplus

I talked to the guys at Prefair, and will stop there.

I was thinking Kingston and Ottawa/Pet would have some good surplus nearby as a result of a year or two of CF guys around. Maybe I was wrong.

I don`t need powder, and I probably can`t bring it with me as ``carry on``.

My understanding is that Marstar doesn`t allow anyone to actually look at the stuff in the wharehouse?

Marstar will allow visitors only by appointment. Essentially, you ask John. If you don't meet his criteria, you don't get to go. I don't know what those criteria are, but they will likely tell you if you call and ask.

For Ottawa, there is Sports Action (usually bare) and Gunco (sometimes the odd gem).

No dedicated surplus firearm dealers though.

In kingston, ON, there's a good Army Surplus onlower Princess St. Varied selection of older military kit, knives, paintball guns and kit, camping gear, etc. etc. Definitely worth a check while you're in the area. I'm usually in there around payday.

Irving Rivers on George St. in the Market (Ottawa) has some army surplus stuff. I find most of his stuff overpriced but you might find some gems if you look around.

George

Surplus d'Armee on Saint Lawrence Street in Montreal between DeMaisoneuve and Ontario Streets still has the odd Brit/Canadian WW2 stuff. It is always worth a check when I am in Montreal. In 2004 they had a bunch of 49 pattern BD jackets, some very nicely badged. They were tightly packed together on the rack but when I started going through them low and behold did I come across a 1944 dated 37 patt BD jacket with officers pips still on. $60.00 not too bad for a size 13 BD. I have come across a few other gems there but that was the best in recent years. Definately worth a look there.

Checked them all.... Unfortunately, there just isn't that much actual surplus being surplused by anyone's military any more.

Prefair was huge. Picked up a hard case for some NV Goggles.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

Headed home in the AM.

Navyshooter, I was at the range on Wed morning for about 10 minutes to meet up with a couple Alberta guys, and just didn't have time, as "His Holyness" was doing his normal routine and keeping you guys in your ranks. So I didn't want to be searching about for fear of feeling his wrath. Man he sure knows how to take the fun out of everything.
