Looking to get out on the weekends to do some hiking and pop a few gophers while I'm at it.

Anyone have any tips on where I might start looking? Would like to stay within a 30-40 min drive from the west side of the side of the city.

Much appreciated.

I apologize for my first remarks, to be fair I can see how my post would make it sound like I know nothing about gopher shooting. I’m looking for pasture land or a farm with a pest problem.

Kinda like asking a guy where his best spot is to catch walleye, probably not gonna happen....for the most part you're gonna have to put some miles on and knock on some doors. Gonna be tough, 30 mins from a big city...your usually in yuppy hobby farm ville.

I know, it’s unfortunate. Maybe I’m an odd one but I always share where I’ve seen game, including some monster mule deer. I can’t hunt them all so there’s no reason not to help out a fellow hunter.

Can't say about Winnipeg but here in western Manitoba there is hardly a gopher to be seen, certainly never enough to rise to the level of invasion

That's nuts, I see them at the zoo and around a few of the parks here. I guess I'll have to just wait until I go see my folks in Saskatchewan in July. I hear there's feral hogs south of Brandon, maybe I'll have to take a drive down and look for those instead.

In town is about the only place you see numbers, ACC was full of em but can't shoot em

As for hogs I am hearing Sprucewoods or Wawanesa

Im in Moose Jaw and and drive a good amount of the backroads within a 2 hour radious, there are small pockets of gophers around here but nothing like there used to be. Great thing for farmers......sucks for us varmint shooters.
