I bought an old single shot shotgun at the hanna show over the weekend, all it says on the gun is (barrel) - proof tested 12 guage, 2 3/4 inch chamber selected forged steel (breach) springfield savage arms corporation chicopee falls, mass. u.s.a (other side of breach) -94B-.
the inside barrel is like a mirror but the outside is a bit rusty, and the stock is plastic/synthetic.
i got a couple of pics but cant seem to upload them:confused:

You have a fine example of a solid well built single shot shotgun. Stevens Tool and Arms Company was absorbed by the Savage Arms Company around the 1930's. Savage retained the Stevens name because it represented well built and durable firearms. The model 94 has several variants including the 94 B model you have with the Tenite stock and forearm. The Tenite stocks were fairly durable and very much ahead of the time. Take some time and clean that old girl up it will last another lifetime. I suspect it has a swaged full choke. The gun was built at Chicopee Falls that predates the move to Westfield. Savage built some of their best guns while at Chicopee Falls. I have a 94 C in 16 gauge and it is one of my favourites when out woods loafing. I stand by to be corrected on dates as my memory is not as good as it used to be.
* NOTE* I just realized the gun was marked Springfield not Stevens. None the less the story is the same with Savage buying out Springfield. The last Savage guns marked Springfield were produced in about 1946.

cheers Darryl
