Thanks to Silvertip for his posing his question and the resulting info. contributions from others the Mauser action as it relates to conversion to a shotgun has been well documented. Kind of hate to see it just disappear - any suggestions. Oh! yes the cat is "a is throw away" Ragamuffin (note the hypno-toad eyes) that has found a good home with us. All take care --- John303.
