I am fairly new to handguns ...I have a s&w m&p 9mm... I have had no problems with anything I have ran thru it...I noticed aluminum cased 9mm ammo is less expensive...I was just wondering if anyone has had any issues with this type of ammunition ?

New to shooting as well, same firearm (mp9) and have shot the Blazer Aluminum both in 115gr and 124gr in past few weeks, approx. 500 rds combined, no issues so far. Just ordered another 1000 rds from cabelas actually since they haven't caused any issues.

I also have an M&P 9mm, and I fire Blazer aluminum-cased ammo from time to time. I get it cheap at Kukagami Jack's up north. Awesome place, and you can sometimes get a box of 50 for $13. I just put 100 rounds through this morning, as a matter-of-fact. I use either the Blazer aluminum, Wolf, or American Eagle. So far, I have not had a single jam with this pistol, and I'm well into the thousands of rounds through it.

I have shot Blazer aluminum for some years out of cZs, BHPs and a couple of other pistols and revolvers with no problems. When it was cheaper, it was my go to ammo.

And, pardon me for hijacking, since there's a few M&P 9mm owners in this thread - how many rounds can you guys fit in your mags? My factory mags are new and tight (giggity). I can't fit more than 9 rounds in each. Can't get 10 in there. At my range, it's a non-issue since we can't load more than 5 at a time, but I want to start going down the road to get into competitive shooting, and wonder if this will be an problem.

I'm sorry....did you say you can only load 5 rounds at a time? :sok2

The MP9 Range kit comes with a Maglula (?that's what I think its called) loader, and can squeeze 10 in there but it takes a little work. Some mags are tighter than others (I have 5 mp9 mags total) but every one of them will take 10 rds.

jackrabbit: thank-you for the video & advice; awesome

padawan: yeah, range rule. 5 rounds. I don't dispute it because, well, I can't, and it's also a really good range to go to. Good price, good people, excellent hours that work with my schedule, and no one bothers me. It's not a bad thing, really. My gf burns through the rounds in the Skorpion, so it slows her down, and I don't blow $100 on .50AE in half an hour, lol.

I'm not telling, lol.

Kukagami Jack's, in Sudbury. $13 plus tax, but sometimes they have 5% or 10% off sales on ammo. It's just Blazer with the aluminum cases. I find ammo here in Ontario comes and goes in waves from month to month. At one point, I had to buy .50AE from Calgary. All of a sudden, SFRC has 80 boxes of it, lol, after I bought 20 off them. Same thing with most stores here, I find.

ya my m&p 9 mags could only fit 9 for a while then after using them for a while with just 9 i was able to force the 10th in with the maglula, and it is slowly getting easier to put the 10th one in

It takes you a half hour to go through $100 in ammo? You're shooting too slow! :)

Back on topic: I shoot aluminum Blazer in my 40 cal M+P when I can't find cheap reloadable brass cased. Never a problem.

Edit: get an uplula, that last round can be a $@+!er.

thanks for the info on the aluminum ...didn't want to mail order until I had a few opinions...and yes the last round in my m&p is a bit of a ##### to get in...I just slam the uplula down a little harder and away she goes...thanks
