Very impressive chassis system, AI got it right for all the Non-Thumbhole enthusiasts... ;) Ive seen how these can shoot with the right rifle dropped in them, and Im a believer thats for sure! :D

So you dont actualy need to bed your action in this one right?

Oh man i feel my wallet tingling

You are correct, the action does not need bedding. The performance you expect from the rifle will tell you to bed or not.

I have an AW series, which uses the same type of block and you can see where the trigger pin swaging rides against the block. Not good. Bedding fixed the problem. Bedding will also eliminate any play at the recoil lug.

Back to the op,

I haven't seen an AX in person but would sure like to. My only complaint with the AW, it was build for small/medium sized hands. I think the AX pistol grip would fit me better.

My complaint with the AX, it looks like they tried too hard.

I don't think you have an AW, which is an AI rifle with the action bonded to the chassis, you have an AICS, two totally different animals, no comparison

I think what he mean was the AE rifle, made by AI and the action is not resin to the stock. only the AW and AX had the action resin to the aluminum stock.

I am pretty sure he is referring to an AICS. I have a AI /AE MKII and the action is not bonded but it's an AI action into an AI stock, no requirement for bedding whatsoever. They use the same trigger as the AW as well which is why I also think he is referring to the AICS, based on the trigger comment.

You are correct. I have a Rem700 bedded into an AICS.
I learnt something new, I thought AICS prefixed the chassis AW.
So the AW is an AI rifle ???
